One decode, two jobs finished
Reducing pixel dimensions often saves more than lowering quality alone. This workflow resizes each image once in a background worker, then feeds those pixels into the selected encoder or automatic codec race.
Choose a size that matches delivery
Use a maximum edge for mixed portrait and landscape batches, a percentage for consistent source sets, or a bounding box for website slots. “Never enlarge” prevents small originals from becoming blurry and heavier.
