What these pages answer
"heic vs jpg" and "heic to jpg" look like the same search and are not. One asks what the difference is and which to choose; the other asks for the file to be changed. These pages answer the first question, and each one ends with a link to the tool that answers the second.
Most format comparisons on the web are one long page covering JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF together, which buries the answer for your two formats among six pairings you did not ask about. Each page here covers exactly one pair. If a file will not open somewhere, start with the pair naming your format and the one the destination wants: compatibility, not quality, is almost always the reason a conversion is needed.
